世界が不自由であった頃、いろんなものが手に入っていた人も、世界が自由になったとたん、何も手に入らなくなったりします。そうなれば「自由なんておかしい！昔の方がよかった！」と思う人がでてくるのは当然です。

もちろん一部の人は「自由になったこと」の恩恵を最大限に受けています。いわゆる“市場原理下での勝ち組”の人達です。そういう人の数は多くないので、ものすごい嫉まれたり反発を受けたりします。簡単に言えば、自由になると「結果平等」が崩れるので、社会は分断されるわけです。

分断後のグループはこの３つです。

・「自由なんてクソくらいだ。不自由な世界に戻りたい。戻るべきだ！」（←規制強化派）、
・「自由はいいけど、やってけないオレ達に手厚い補償を！」（←大きな政府派。左派）
・「不自由な時代に戻るなんて時代錯誤！問題は市場で解決すべき！」（←自由主義者）

（政党もこの３つに分かれればいいのに、民主党はすべてのグループを党内に抱えているのでいっつも仲間割ればっかりしています。）
